To continue this new habit of using my own visual journey to draw life lessons, I must highlight how in photography, much like in every quest, it is possible to warp time and blend past, present and future if one so chooses. The decision to snap a photograph, instinctive or calculated, is but a beginning. So are the decisions that somehow commit us at any moment of our lives. And like in the photographic process, there is always a choice to reinvent oneself, no matter to what degree our steps seem to commit us, which can liberate all or part of who we are and what we are about.
Every once in a while a photo escapes one's eyes in the latter parts of the photographic process. That is, the part of the process that takes place after the shutter is released. Here is one taken inside the Smithsonian Museum of American History on the morning of January 20, 2009, as thousands took refuge from the frigid air before the presidential inauguration of Barack Obama.
Thus, one always has the option to keep looking, searching, seeking, asking...
Cheers,
E
